Dear first-year students,

We, the Veterinary Medicine Student Council Initiative – VetMed-FSI for short – would like to welcome you to the School of Veterinary Medicine at Freie Universität Berlin!

To make it easier for you to start your studies and take your first steps, we have created this study guide for you in cooperation with the dean's office and the veterinary library. In addition, the numerous mentors from the higher semesters are there to help and advise you.

In a few days, you will be starting your studies as approximately 170 first-year students and will receive your license to practice medicine after eleven semesters. The road may seem long, but time will pass faster than you think and in exactly one year's time you will already have your pre-physics internship – the first major hurdle – in your pocket.

Don't be afraid to pester them with questions. ;-) And we always have an open ear for your problems.
