Laboratory animal science training and further education
Anyone carrying out animal experiments must have the necessary specialist knowledge!
According to §3 TierSchVersV, it must be ensured that persons who carry out, plan or manage animal experiments on vertebrates regularly undergo further training with regard to the required knowledge and skills (see Annex 1 Section 3).
Participation in one relevant training event per year (approx. 8 hours) is regarded as regular training throughout Germany. Proof of this must be kept and presented to the authorities on request.
Our institute offers the following training courses in accordance with §3 Para. 2 TierSchVersV:

Briefings on new regulations in the Animal Welfare Act and the Animal Welfare Experimental Animals Ordinance at the Free University twice a year (in German only). You will receive information under "Laboratory animal science briefing for FU employees" and in good time via the corresponding email distribution list.

Laboratory animal science courses for doctoral students and scientists, for further information see "Laboratory animal science module course A and B"

Participation in postgraduate training in the DRS and in BB3R with lectures on animal welfare in the Spring Schools is also credited as further training in accordance with §3 para. 2 TierSchVersV.
