Molecular biology of parasite infections

Projects in area A center around molecular aspects of our core parasites. In focus are parasite lipid biogenesis, parasite cell-cell communication, parasite metabolic multi-drug resistance pathways and host vesicular transport processes of Plasmodium, Toxoplasma and helminths. This area aims to identify and characterize selective targets for drug and vaccine development as well as to understand multi-drug resistance.
