Study and teaching

In addition to the obligatory courses (lectures and courses) for general and special microbiology and mycology as well as general and special infection and epidemiology and animal disease control, the institute also offers numerous compulsory elective courses and the opportunity to complete internships. The annual microbiology course is also supplemented by the e-learning program "e-mibi" and offers students an exciting opportunity to discover the world of bacteria.

As part of the elective courses, students are offered the unique opportunity each semester to learn how to work in crisis centers and how to use the geographical management program TSN (animal disease notification system) as part of an interactive animal disease control training course.

Furthermore, there is intensive cooperation and networking between the institute and various academic and non-academic research and graduate programs, including international ones. This enables doctoral and PhD students in particular to receive high-level training and further education under highly qualified supervision at our institute.

Course materials, exam question catalogs and current information on the courses offered are made available to students on the Freie Universität Berlin Blackboard (www.lms.fu-berlin.de).

IMPORTANT AND UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS:
The examination modalities for the subject Bacteriology and Mycology according to the new TAppV can be viewed in Blackboard ("Course Information" in the course "Examination Questions", "Micobiology Course" and "General Infection and Disease Theory")
