This elective course provides intensive and condensed knowledge on relevant subjects in pharmacology. The basics are repeated and new trends are highlighted.

The course will cover the following topics

• General pharmacology (pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics using examples) Prospects for future AM developments
• Pharmacological influence on the vegetative nervous system
• Current drugs with an influence on the nociceptive system and possible trends in the treatment of pain
• Antiparasitics
• Selected pharmaceuticals influencing the cardiovascular system
• CNS-active drugs
• Pharmacology of antibiotically active substances
