2. Semester: Understanding, Surviving and Passing an Oral Examination
In this workshop, students learn to understand the transactions between the examiner and the examinee and to recognize their own part in shaping these transactions. This involves self-reflection and the development of rhetorical and communicative skills. These are practiced in various role plays, during which students take on both their own perspective and that of the examiner.
2. Semester: Anatomy, Histology and Embryology in Clinic and Research
This course teaches students the connection between research and practice and highlights career opportunities as a veterinarian in research and science. In special lectures, for example on working in clinical diagnostics, cell culture as a replacement/supplement to animal experiments, the use of stem cells to save endangered animal species or morphometric and morphological methods in medicine, students are introduced to current clinical and scientific content
6.- 8. Semester: Communication in Veterinary Medicine
Communication is crucial in veterinary medicine, but in some situations it can be very challenging. During this course, students practice how they can handle difficult communication scenarios that may arise in the professional everyday life as a veterinarian, also with the aid of improvisational theater.
