Working group Minimization Strategies
Contact person (deputy): Dr. Greta Gölz
Results of a long-term investigation (FU Berlin, Institute of Animal Hygiene) showed a wide spread distribution of ESBL-/AmpC producing Enterobacteriaceae in poultry. A high detection level of ESBL-/AmpC producing E. coli was already noticed in faecal samples.
To investigate the transmission of ESBL-/AmpC producing Enterobacteriaceae in the broiler production chain, investigated broiler flocks will be sampled at the slaughter house and after slaughter. Also samples of packed chicken meat originating from the initially sampled flocks will be analysed.
In the working group, physical-technological processes are developed and implemented in the food chain, which can lead to the reduction of zoonotic agents and the improvement of the microbiological quality of food.
