The Department of Reproductive Medicine offers a wide range of services for horse breeding as well as examination and treatment of animals with diseases of the genital organs. Patients are treated as outpatients, inpatients and, in exceptional cases, as outpatients. The following overview lists some of our services.

Mare:

• Breeding suitability examination
• Insemination (frozen, fresh and native semen)
• Embryo transfer
• Gynecological diseases of the mare
• Endoscopy of the uterus including cyst removal
• Problems during pregnancy
• Obstetrics (including fetotomy and caesarean section)
• All operations on the genital tract (Caslick surgery, vulvoplasty, etc.)

Stallion:

• Breeding suitability examination
• semen collection for native semen transfer
• andrological diseases of the stallion
• EU insemination station (in preparation)

Foals:

• Intensive care of newborn sick foals
• Advice on the care and rearing of newborn foals
